Some relevant questions to ask before buying a used vehicle.
What is the vehicle's mileage?
The seller can inform you about the wear and general condition of the vehicle.
How has the vehicle been maintained?
Ask the seller if they have maintenance records, repair history, or even maintenance receipts that will allow you to see how and how often the vehicle has undergone oil changes or routine check-ups.
The CarProof report?
This is a report on the vehicle's history. Ask the seller for it. If they don't have one, take note of the VIN. You can then check the report yourself.
Does the vehicle have any mechanical issues?
It is essential to research the model you're about to purchase. Buying a vehicle with existing mechanical problems could cost you more in the long run due to the numerous repairs you may have to make.
Is the vehicle still covered by the original warranty?
A relatively new used vehicle may still be covered by a warranty. Ask the seller for details.
Is an independent inspection necessary?
It is recommended that a third party (ideally a mechanic) perform an inspection before purchasing the vehicle. Also, ask the seller to do a test drive to determine if the vehicle suits your driving needs.
